Daniil Karpov
13 YEARS OLD, russia, Ewing's sarcoma of the left femur

The story of Daniil is different from those that we usually tell.

In 2013, the child was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, after undergoing many courses of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, he won.

3 years later, in 2016, a relapse occurred, an operation was performed to remove the femur and joints, during which an endoprosthesis was installed. During active treatment, doctors forbade developing the leg.

As a result 8 months later a contracture formed around prosthesis and a difference in the length of the legs appeared. During the next operation, the prosthesis flew out of the hip joint, a dislocation was formed, which remained untreated for more than a year as the child was sent from one hospital to another...

The operation of endoprosthesis replacement and contracture removal was performed in June 2020 only. After the operation, Daniil had a thrombosis, which was not treated for more than two days, the leg had no blood flow all this time, tissue death and necrosis began.

As a result of medical negligence, wasted time the leg completely lost sensitivity and mobility. For more than a year, the wound remained open, the prosthesis was visible through it!

It is impossible to save the full leg. on August 16, a high leg amputation was performed.

A series of operations will make it possible to use a modern prosthesis, which will help Daniil to lead an active life and begin to walk after almost 5 years of struggle.

We are opening an urgent fundraising of
for saving Daniil.
